Acceptance & Updates
Using ScanCBUS constitutes acceptance of these Terms and the Privacy Policy. We may update these documents—major changes will be highlighted—and continued use implies agreement to the revised terms.

Description of Service
ScanCBUS provides curated, live trunked public safety radio audio and archived playback based on your plan’s listening history window, plus accompanying metadata (talkgroup names, timestamps, and system details). We are not affiliated with any governmental or public safety agency.
The site is for informational and personal use only and is not a source for emergency response.
We reserve discretion to modify, limit, or remove content, plans, or features at any time.

Account & Eligibility
Accounts are available for individuals 18+ or those of legal age in their jurisdiction. Account creation may be limited or closed depending on site settings.
Paid accounts and first-responder accounts require truthful registration information, and first-responder status may require verification.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and all associated activity.

Service Access & Conduct
Anonymous listening may be supported for live audio and limited history. Accounts are required for subscriptions, extended history access, or first-responder benefits where offered.
Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or data mining of content is forbidden. You may not bypass access limits or attempt to access restricted talkgroups.
We may suspend or remove access for violations at our discretion—without liability.

Content Usage & Restrictions
You may not:
- Use content for unlawful or harmful purposes.
- Redistribute, rebroadcast, or publicly stream audio or metadata.
- Misuse the Service to interfere with public safety processes or to surveil individuals.
We prohibit access to or redistribution of tactical, SWAT, investigative, medical, or otherwise private communications.

Payments & Billing
Subscriptions (when available) are billed through Stripe and may auto-renew until canceled. ScanCBUS does not store credit card data.
Plan changes or cancellations are handled through the site and may take a short time to propagate.
Complimentary first-responder accounts are available upon verified request where offered.

Audio & Data Retention
Audio recordings and metadata are retained based on plan limits, system capacity, and internal schedules. Older transmissions may not be available, and we may remove recordings at any time and for any reason without notice.

Information Collected & Privacy
Data we collect:
- Account information: name, email, username, and authentication provider identifiers (for registered users).
- Subscription data: plan selection and Stripe customer IDs (if applicable).
- Usage logs: including IP address, browser/device details, pages viewed, and session duration.
- Cookie data: for login sessions and analytics.
- Public safety system metadata: including timestamps and talkgroup IDs.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share information only with:
- Stripe for payments.
- Google Analytics for usage tracking when enabled.
- Hosting/CDN providers for content delivery and security.

Cookies & Google Analytics
We use cookies to maintain sessions and preferences. Google Analytics may be enabled to monitor site performance (e.g., session length, page views).
Users may disable cookies via browser settings or opt out of Analytics using the official opt-out tool.

While we employ reasonable technical safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute protection against breaches or unauthorized access.

Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is offered “as-is” and “as-available.” No warranty is given for uninterrupted access or perfect accuracy.
Radio communications may be delayed or incomplete; do not rely on ScanCBUS for emergencies.

Liability Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
- Our total liability is limited to any subscription fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months (if applicable).

Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScanCBUS LLC, its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims and legal costs arising from your use or misuse of the Service.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, U.S. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in courts located in Franklin County, Ohio.

Termination
We may suspend or terminate access—anonymous or registered—at any time, for any reason. Termination may result in loss of access to services or features.
